In mid-April 2015, the European Unionreleased a notification onexpected amendments to the Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) as Regards NonylphenolEthoxylates.The document isaimed at prohibitingthe placing on the market of textile articlesif the content of nonylphenolethoxylates (NPE) exceeds maximum level.Proposed date of adoption: Last quarter of 2015. Proposed date of entry into force: 20 days from publication in the Official Journal of the EU (the restriction will apply from the end of 2020).Final date for comments: June 15, 2015.

In the first half of March 2015, Brazil released a notification onexpected changes of the labeling standards as regards tobacco productspackaging, in particular, regarding the health warning. Proposed date of adoption and entry into force:to be determined after the end of the consultation period.

In the second half of March 2015, Canada informed the WTO on the expected introduction of further restrictions on the use of selected additives in cigars.Proposed date of adoption: final publication of the regulations in the Canada Gazette;Part II is expected for second or third quarter of 2015. Proposed date of entry into force: 6 monthsfollowing publication in Canada Gazette.Final date for comments: 21 May 2015.

In early April 2015, the European Union released a notification on the Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on veterinary medicinal products. The documentaims to cover all provisions regarding veterinary medicines in one legal act. It also envisagescertain changes initiated by the Member States. Proposed date of adoption: end 2016. Proposed date of entry into force: 20 days from publication in the Official Journal of the EU.Final date for comments:July 1, 2015.

In the second half of March 2015, Switzerland released a notification on Draft revision of the Ordinance of the Swiss Federal Office of Communications on Telecommunications Equipment. Proposed date of adoption and entry into force: June 13, 2016. Final date for comments: May 23, 2015.

In early February 2015, the Republic of Singapore informed the WTO on changes to technical  energy conservation regulations to extend the scope of registrable goods. In particular, non-directional lamps for general lighting purposes are proposed to add to the list of registrable goods. Proposed date of adoption: to be determined (notice will be published prior to the date of entry into force). Proposed date of entry into force: 1 July 2015. Final date for comments:  April 5, 2015.

In the second half of March 2015, the European Union released a notification on Draft Commission Implementing Regulation Approving 5-Chloro-2-(4-Chlorophenoxy)-Phenol as an Existing Active Substance for Use in Biocidal Products. Proposed date of adoption: June 2015. Proposed date of entry into force: 20 days from publication in the Official Journal of the EU. Final date for comments: May 22, 2015.

In early March 2015, the EU released a notification on revision of maximum levels of inorganic arsenic in rice and some derived commodities. Proposed date of adoption: June 2015. Proposed date of entry into force: 1 January 2016. Final date for comments: May 3, 2015.

In the second half of February 2015, the Republic of Korea (South Korea) informed the WTO on amendments to the legislation on safety of children's products. The changes will be applied to seventeen products with revision of certain safety criteria. Proposed date of adoption and entry into force: April 2015 (or later). Final date for comments: April 20, 2015.

In early March 2015, the European Union released a notification on the revision of number of existing maximum levels for lead and establishment of some additional maximum levels in certain food commodities. Proposed date of adoption: June 2015. Proposed date of entry into force: 1 January 2016. Final date for comments: May 3, 2015.
